Public classes can offer exceptional value for money and with the opportunity of mixing with other learners they can be pleasantly sociable.
To balance this, however, remember that you will need to fit in with the scheduled time - perhaps over several weeks - and the course will be structured to cover a set of pre-defined topics. Also remember you may have to go at the pace of the other class members (who may be a lot quicker or slower than you), and you will have to share the tutor's time and attention.
If you're undecided as to whether the cost of one-to-one tuition is worthwhile, the things to consider are whether you need to work particularly slowly, or fast, whether you just need help on particular topics, and whether the help you need is specific to your own computer (for example setting it up to suit you, or addressing problems with how it's behaving).
Still not sure? Why not do both! Join a class, and book an individual lesson (or several) to tackle more specific problems on your own computer.
Remember…
